Upstate/Downstate Museum Educators Exchange

The Upstate/Downstate Museum Educators Exchange, funded by a grant from the New York State Counciil on the Arts (NYSCA), provided the opportunity for New York's museum educators to spend a week at a sister institution, learning new techniques, observing programs and planning, and developing new ideas to bring back to their own institutions.

Goals of the Project

  • Provide museum educators with new perspectives and ideas
  • Provide host museums with new opportunities to learn
  • Develop new networks of museum professionals

Exchange partners were chosen in 2002, with exchanges taking place during 2003. As the exchanges were completed, the educators' reports on their experiences have been added to the website.
