Mentoring

Is your organization struggling with a problem that could be resolved with a little sound advice? Perhaps you just need some help in getting started in the right direction. You’re not ready for a paid consultant yet, but you’d like to bounce your ideas off a colleague in upstate New York. The new UHA mentoring program may be just what you need.

For some basic advice in one of the following areas, call the UHA office at 800-895-1648. UHA staff will identify a volunteer mentor who matches up with your specific problem area. He or she will contact you to discuss your issue. Perhaps if time and/or resources permit, the mentor may visit your site; however this is not required of the mentor. Remember that everybody is overworked! If the mentor determines that the scale of a problem is too large to address in an initial consultation, he/she may recommend that your organization submit a Technical Assistance grant request.
