Annual Conference Every year, the Upstate History Alliance partners with the Museum Association of New York to bring together museum professionals, volunteers, and anyone interested in New York's rich history and culture at the UHA/MANY Annual Conference. Conference participants experience a wide range of programs and events. Museum Institute at Sagamore The Museum Institute at Sagamore is an annual intensive training institute that is held at Great Camp Sagamore which is located in the Adirondacks. Each year, the theme of the Institute changes, providing new professional development opportunities for museum professionals and volunteers alike. In fact, one of the greatest elements of the Institute is that participants come from a wide range of organizations, as do the presenters. Online Learning Communities The Upstate History Alliance has embarked on a project to bring professional development opportunities right to your fingertips. This unique learning experience is designed for all different types of learners with all different levels of experience. Roundtable Discussions Scheduled at locations all throughout the state, the UHA Roundtable Series provides a medium for directors, curators, educators and truss tees to come together to discuss their ideas, issues and concerns on a variety of contemporary issues, as well as those issues that have be plaguing the field for years. Workshops Periodically, the Upstate History Alliance holds workshops on a variety of topics such as conservation, preservation, archive management, and others that are of interest to our constituents. Grants for Museum Advancement Commonly known as Get Ready! Get Set! and Go! Grants, these three grants are designed to make it easy for organizations to access professional help and improve their institutions. |
