Respect for Diversity:

Valuing Our Museums, Libraries, and the Communities They Create

The South Central Region of the Documentary Heritage Program, administered by the Upstate History Alliance, is pleased to announce the availability of a traveling exhibition that highlights the importance on diversity in communities as well as the ways our cultural institutions work to represent that diversity in their collections.

This high-quality exhibit consists of four 52"x26" panels and hardware for hanging or easels for display.
The exhibit is designed to be accompanied by materials from your own collection, creating a personal exhibition at your organization. The fourth panel even includes a dry-erase board, inviting your community members to add to the exhibit.

The exhibit is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with preference given to organizations in the South Central Region (Allegany, Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates counties). The last date that South Central DHP members will have their choice of date is September 1, 2007, so put in your requests early. After September 15th, South Central DHP members will still be able to book the exhibit, but the will have to choose from dates that are still available.

The cost of this exhibit is minimal--$150.00 which includes shipping and handling. Venues may host this exhibit for up to eight weeks in a low-security environment.

The exhibit is now available. If you would like more information, or would like to book this exhibit, please contact Jenny Rosenzweig, Regional Archivist, at info@upstatehistory.org or by phone at 1.800.895.1648.
